The real story of Rocky Patel began in 2001-2002 when he put his name on the cigars he created and changed the brand from Indian Tabac Cigar to Rocky Patel. He offers the market a new product with specially selected tobacco, monitoring the production process himself. His goal is to create the best cigars, which are not smoked out of fashion sense and idle curiosity, but by connoisseurs, true connoisseurs.

Rocky’s passion is in selecting and blending different tobaccos.

The El Paraiso factory in Honduras, where Rocky Patel cigars are made, employs about 900 people, of whom 700 are torsedors. Each torsador is limited to a maximum number of cigars wrapped per day. According to Rocky, the only way to achieve the perfect quality is to do it conscientiously and take enough time. Tobacco leaves are sorted not only by length and size, but also by thickness.

With the intention of taking enough time to make each cigar. Each torsador in the factory, instead of the 400-500 cigars that are made per day, Rocky limits them to 250.

Cigar production implies exact consistency not only in the origin of cigar tobacco and production technologies, but also in the original properties of each individual leaf. In the production of Rocky Patel cigars, a special Calfrista system is used, which allows for precise control of temperature and humidity during the drying process.

In Honduras, Rocky found unused bales of old vintage Honduran Roadleaf and Ecuadorian Sumatra. He blended these two different tobaccos to create the two Vintage Series lines. He soon realized that the older aged tobacco was of a much better quality than anything he had used before.

A passion for blending tobaccos is in Rocky Patel’s blood. This is fueled by Rocky’s Indian ancestry and pedigree: his mother is a famous chef. For the production of Rocky Patel cigars, he mixes tobacco from Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Mexican and Dominican tobacco. The end product is not just a good combination, because the best cigars, in his opinion, should not just be good, but necessarily interesting. Rocky believes that blending tobaccos from different regions requires more skill and knowledge so the end product can become an amazing cigar.This process takes time, and while experimenting with hundreds of blends, it can literally take a year or more to get the “perfect” blend. Thus begins Rocky Patel’s Vintage Series. It emphasizes quality control. Each cigar is inspected and tested. The taste of Rocky Patel cigars is very complex, even “motley”, but surprisingly harmonious.

Rocky has found inspiration in various aspects of some of his competitors. He likes Padron’s quality, Davidoff’s construction and Fuentes’ consistency. While trying to incorporate all these factors into his product, he has also kept his cigars reasonably priced for consumers who are always looking for the best quality at the best value.

A tireless brand endorser, he rarely sees his home and headquarters in Naples and Florida. Annually, he logs more than 300 days on the road and over 150,000 miles. He once visited 600 cities in 750 days! The time on the road is worth it, considering that in each city Rocky wins new customers and introduces more and more people to the Rocky Patel brand.
